How many of us, how many unions, environmental, or advocacy groups could offer pols leaving office the kind of salaries they get as corporate lobbyists, CEO's, and do-nothing board members?

How many leave office and become Mother Theresa? The only one I can think of is Jimmy Carter and he made other ex-pols look so bad by comparison that they mock and shun him.

We could ban all corporate money from campaigns and issue ads, and the scales would be closer to even, but corporations would still have more power.

1. Corruption is eternal. The best we can do is make it
harder for those who find corruption preferable to honesty.

3. of course. Even the best reform would work for maybe 20 years
before we would be back to the current level of Caligula bachanal like corruption.

6. As long as corporations control the media,
they will have the advantage.

Most Americans still get all of their information on politics from mainstream media sources.
