6. California women are showing some leadership skills, huh?
Nancy Pelosi
Barbara Boxer
Maxine Waters
Barbara Lee
Lynn Woolsey

"Three California congresswomen have risen to the Bush administration’s challenge of coming up with a better plan for Iraq than a troop surge. Oakland Rep. Barbara Lee, Petaluma Rep. Lynn Woolsey and Los Angeles Rep. Maxine Waters are introducing a proposition they say will have much more positive results than the president’s planned actions.

"They're saying if you have a better plan, come up with it. It is absolutely unthinkable that this president, who led us into war under false pretenses, -misleading information, distorted information,- would now try to put the responsibility on somebody else's shoulders to stop it," said Waters.

The Bring the Troops Home and Iraq Sovereignty Restoration Act includes a list of firm goals, including the removal of American forces in six months, and full funding for the Veteran’s Administration."

7. She was great!
I actually teared up listening to her. Congress echoes our thoughts so rarely anymore it's amazingly powerful when one of them does, and she hit it square on the head with these lines.

Kick for Maxine Waters!
