If the bill is truly a good one, if it does the *right* things, no one will admit voting against it and the crew that got it passed will be hailed as folk heroes.

2. Queue the capitulating "pragmatists"
Edited on Wed Mar-03-10 07:37 PM by Oregone
Look...capitulating pragmatism was given a shot. Its taken this long to get it to where it is. A whole lot of people think its a steaming pile of shit...

The least this group could of done was wasted 4 days attemping to put a real health care reform bill through, like single-payer. The idea could of caught fire...or maybe it wouldn't of made it through a cloture vote. At least you could of fuckn tried. Maybe America had a massive hunger for it if they were just given a taste

People were in a frenzy over some ficticious arbitrary bait-and-switch term (public option). What if you presented something real to the people? What if...

The audacity of capitulation. Ug.

3. Well said,
The trouble is that our so called representatives can't do that, otherwise they risk the wrath of their corporate masters, you know, the ones that they really represent.

4. Do you seriously believe that?
The bill is going to be attacked and assaulted no matter what's in it.

6. Yeah, actually. I *do* beleive that.
I could give a fat fuck what teevee yakkers think of it. Or Mitch McConnell or Mike Steele.

If THE PEOPLE like it, those assholes will fall all over themselves to bask in its glow.

Sometimes ya just gotta do what's right.

5. You're asking Ronald McDonald to sell tofu.
These frauds are bought and paid for. Worse than that, actually-- they're groomed. If they didn't think fucking *you* over in favor of wealthy people was a virtue, they never would've been called "viable candidates".

I wish they *were* just corrupt, the more I think about it. A corrupt man can always be counted on to do what's in his best interest. In that case, Obama might actually have an eye to his reelection chances. He doesn't seem to, however. He seems more concerned about what he can do *within the bounds of servicing wealth*.

McDonald's pins hopes on healthy new menu

By TAIGA URANAKA
Staff writer

In an attempt to lure customers back to its 3,900 outlets, McDonald's Co. (Japan) Ltd. on Tuesday unveiled menu additions it hopes will project a fresh and healthy image.

Starting April 23, the hamburger chain will serve the Tofu Sandwich and the Premium Mac as part of its New Tastes Menu.
