I think Ratigan kind of went over the top -- anybody else catch that? He really
didn't give that guy time to answer.

1. I think Dylan got up on the wrong side of the bed.
Not to defend that tea-bagger, but Dylan cut him off continually. If that had been me I would have walked out too. Watch for Fox to make hay of this.

3. Had the TiVO on. Ratigan was fully justified. Williams filibustered him...
... so Ratigan busted Williams. Good riddance to the de facto bigot defender.

6. I totally agree with you.
But I still think Dylan should have shown more restraint and allowed the POS to spew his arrogant true colors instead of displaying his temper.

32. That's the ongoing problem, though. This POS and others ARE ALLOWED TO SPEW
all the time, without being stopped, without being checked, without being challenged, without being fact-corrected. There's far too much "it's not my job to correct the record if somebody's lying to me - my job is merely to pass along what they said, period." So, in effect, they're just shitting out the same unvetted crap that they're swallowing whole from these speakers/interviewees/officials/news figures. They are passing along established falsehoods as truth without labeling them accordingly or setting the record straight. They are, in effect, passing along a crooked record.

I'm a retired journalist and this has REALLY pissed me off, especially since the bush-1 years.

15. He was over the top, BUT ...
the arsehat did the friggen "well, they had a neo-nazi on some radio station in indochina that was NBC, does that mean NBC is in cahoots with neonazis" bullcrape that republicans always do ...

These jaggoffs simply are incapable of taking even the first level of responsibility, it is all deflection, spin, you suck so I can suck BS all the time ...

I like Ratigan a lot, but he did go over the top ... I can see eventually cutting the guy off, but Ratigan just went from Defcon 5 to Defcon 1 in a second ...

4. He Cut Him Off BECAUSE He Wouldn't Answer THE QUESTION!!
Hey, if that's what it takes, then maybe we can get somewhere! Anymore, too many spineless people in Congress have let themselves get run over by being wishy-washy and leaning over back wards!

Again, THE GUY decided he didn't want to address the issue! Ratigan may have gotten hot, but I was too!! The Tea-Party guy and his following have disrupted plenty, ans THEY SHOULD be held up to the light!

I'll stop because I KNOW I'm going to get attacked here. Go ahead, but I'm not going to argue back and forth... my point has been made, with FERVOR!

10. Finally there's a TeeV talking head un-willing to be bullshitted and you
want to criticize hime for getting "up on the wrong side of the bed"? Then, by all means, he should get up on the wrong side of the bed every day.

2. He ASKED The Guy A Question... Do You Accept Nazis & Racists??
And THE GUY went off in another direction. He stated at the beginning of HIS show that he didn't necessarily "lump" the Tea-Party in with other radical groups that only wanted to disrupt to be disrupting!!

He asked the GUY, if he was willing to stop anyone in HIS Party if he thought they were people who just wanted to disrupt, and THEY GUY went off on his own. NO, he didn't give the guy a chance to answer THE WAY HE WANTED TO ANSWER! They guy didn't want to answer "the question" and I DON'T BLAME Ratigan at all! It was OBVIOUS to me that "the man" (don't know his name" DID NOT WANT to address what Ratigan wanted to get to the bottom of!

Sorry, I'm with Ratigan... others may disagree, but Tweety does it ALL THE TIME, and tells his guests "ANSWER THE QUESTION!" Tweety even has an ad he made saying that he LOVES to catch people NOT ANSWERING and then going after them!

Ratigan is trying to hold people's feet to the fire, and I for one am sick and tired of MSM pussy-footing around lime so many of them do!

OKAY, I'll stop now... I'm with Ratigan, because I've reached a point where I'm SICK of "slick" people pushing their agenda and NOT wanting to answer for what THEIR AGENDA produces!

8. I'm with Ratigan, too -- and I'm not saying he's WRONG, just that he kind of
lost it. Like Tweety, demanding an answer and not pausing long enough to get one.

Just my take on it and I'll bet I'm the only one who interpreted it that way. I've seen lots of posts agreeing with your view, and I strongly agree to a point -- just wish we could have heard a peep or more from the guy that would have showed his true colors even more.

Not that big a deal -- Dylan is one of my favorites and I know he was in the right, I just was critical of his approach.

16. I hate it when I'm the one asking, too! And I also know how hard it is to just
answer that way when I'm the ask-ee. I always feel compelled to explain WHY as I'm certain the asker is dying to know. :7

But, even Biden was able to answer with a simple "yes" when questioned during the Presidential Debates if he'd be able to cut back on his loquaciousness. :)

12. I Gotcha... Was Just Looking For A Way To Contact MSNBC BEFORE
they get an overload of people dissing Ratigan! I've come to enjoy Dylan a LOT, and his "in your face" attitude! I think it has begun to sit so well with me because so many people are taking advantage of "we the people" and too many are just sitting on their asses and letting it happen!

MSN has controlled a certain message for far too long, and Ratigan has been pushing back!

But I do take your point, but I still want to let MSNBC know how I feel!

14. I can never find an address to contact who I want at the networks --
so good luck!

And I doubt they'll get much mail dissing Ratigan - I think it will be overwhelmingly in support.

I'm really glad he's there, and I particularly like it when he deals with the financial stuff, because he understands it better than the others, and as a result, helps me understand it better, too.

17. Well, I Did Check Him Out Through MSNBC, And I Already KNEW
he had a financial background coming from CNBC, so I too like his inside track regarding Wall Street!

I also like the way he ended his show with all the information about The Coffee Party! www.coffeepartyusa.com and SHE really handled herself well! Got to see BOTH sides of "out-liner" Parties. It's COFFEE for me!

Anyway, still looking for the contact info... I DO KNOW there's a list here somewhere, but cooking dinner while going back and forth here!

I certainly WANT Ratigan to stay around, therefore want to show my support to the "honchos" there.

23. I don't think we have to worry about Dylan going anywhere -- It's my sense that MSNBC realizes with
KO, Rachel, then adding Ed and Dylan, that we were starved for progressive voices (which means more advertising revenue for them!). They got rid of Tucker, and seem to be tailoring their lineup to keep us happy. :7 :hi:

He was right on the issue but he lost his temper. He should have methodically dismembered that freeper, but he crashed. Once you blow your cool, it takes a while to regain equilibrium.

21. It's Okay... I'm Not Attacking You At All, I Think It Was A "Fair" Reaction
because it was pretty heated and perhaps looked offensive to some extent. Still, some of those people need to be taken to task!

They are so full of themselves and I'm SICK of hearing about Tea-Party, Tea-Party, Tea-Party! In the beginning is was pretty funny when they ACTUALLY called themselves Tea-BAGGERS! Some of them don't have many lights on while they spew their hatred! Still, they've gotten far too much "press" to suit me, and that's why I reacted the way I did!

28. (scratches head) plainly he did give him a soap box by inviting him on to begin with
I posted this example below - the guy was shown up on CNN 6 months ago as a whackjob (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUneYlK4xQI). I mean, he didn't force his way onto Dylan Ratigan's show, did he? They booked him. Mark Williams has been a RW radio host for something like 25 years. Ratigan knew who his guest was, spent most of the segment shouting at him (as far as I can see he talked a lot more than Williams did) and came off as a bully, which is probably going to intensify Williams' support among the tea party types.

That's not real journalism, it was just a piece of political theater which happened to overlap with your opinion. If you were a neutral observer seeking to learn more about the tea party phenomenon, you'd actually be less informed at the end of this than you were at the beginning.

18. Good for Ratigan for not allowing these screwballs to
avoid answering questions. They study how to do this in that Morton Blackwell 'school of journalism' that O'Keefe, Rove et al are graduates of. Too much mealy-mouthed capitulation to these deceivers in the media and from Democrats in general.

They should be treated this way every time they refuse to respond to a direct question and interrupted if that what it takes, until they learn that these old rightwing tactics are no longer acceptable.

27. Why did he invite him on the show then?
We knew what Williams was months and months ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUneYlK4xQI offers and example of Anderson Cooper (and others) hauling the guy over the coals. I have no opinion for or against Ratigan, but he knew who he was inviting on and thus one has to assume he did so for ratings. I have no problem with that, but let's not pretend the discovery of Williams' odious personality comes as a surprise. Don't want to give haters a platform? Don't invite them onto the show.

I can't understand why we are supposed to be 'tea party polite' with these thugs. Has nobody ever seen how liberals have been treated the past 25 years on TV? Do we never learn to stop bringing a pillow to a knife fight?
