3. Sudden death OT = best possible way for an Olympic gold match to end
Doesn't matter who wins in a case like that as much as seeing it well-contested, and both teams delivered.

8. hey, no shame in that loss. You guys played terrific and really turned around a game
that a lessor team would have given up on.

11. Spoken like a true Canadian. Americans do not tolerate losing,
That's why we've been so cranky the past few decades.

15. Crosby just said "It was closer than we expected"
Just voicing what all of Canada feels, I guess. Until we win a Gold, they will never respect us.

19. I think all the players and fans respected the U.S. team from
day 1. They're all NHL Players and practice and play just as much as our boys have. There was no reason for them not to be respected.

I don't understand that at all.

They played very, very well.

20. Who really cares? They're all professional athletes.
I don't watch any Olympic sports where professionals play. I'd just as soon watch an auto mechanic repair a car. Canada...USA...every player in that game is an NHL player.

21. They're all professionals. They get paid by their government
or get endorsements from manufacturers. Professional-amateur ;this is their job.

22. It was a great display of the sport of hockey.
Edited on Sun Feb-28-10 09:17 PM by Forkboy
The U.S. wasn't even expected to medal by most (including me...I had them 4th or 5th). Both teams played a great, solid game of hockey. As a fan of the sport more than any team (even the Bruins) I have no complaints with the way things went down. The U.S. played an amazing tourney.

Now, let's get back to the NHL. Let's see these guys like Crosby, Kane, Toews and Rafalski playing for their own teams for the final 6 weeks of the NHL season, and the playoffs will be just as fun. If you liked this hockey, you'll like the NHL playoffs. :)
