IMF chief pushes for more power, new global currency
The International Monetary Fund wants more power to police the global financial system and a bigger role in emergency financing, managing director Dominique Strauss-Kahn said Friday.

In a speech to the Bretton Woods Committee, a finance reform think tank in Washington, D.C., he claimed that a stronger IMF also warrants a new global reserve currency that would serve as an alternative to the U.S. dollar.

"Strauss-Kahn said such an asset could be similar to but distinctly different from the IMF's special drawing rights, or SDRs, the accounting unit that countries use to hold funds within the IMF," ABC News reported. "It is based on a basket of major currencies."

"One day, the Fund might even be called upon to provide a globally issued reserve asset, similar to -- but in important respects different from -- the SDR," he said.

I'm sure the Goldman Sachs of the world would love this. Then they don't have to manipulate individual countries, they can just manipulate the new World currency and the new World market.

1. The SDR is already in place, just change the weighting away from the Dollar and you've got

a good currency that can be adjusted as needed. This has to be done.

3. IMF and their friendly face, the World Bank, are the real enemies agents.
It been coming for years and it's almost here. Currency devalued, hyper-inflation, imposed "austerity" programs, elimination of all social programs (here's how they get SS with no consequences), and the combined product of the citizenry stolen and given, at a deep discount, to "our creditors".

4. An IMF currency would be instituted solely to allow corporations to
..... finalize their intentions to cease being based within the US so they can eliminate any tax obligations they might have to our country in the future.

It would truly make corporations nations unto themselves as far as paying their share in tax revenues.

5. This would be the next to the last step in making this country a third world
nation. The other half is implementing and sustaining military control of the people, especially in this country.

6. This is written as if it is a new idea. Take a look back and recognize all who have

pushed for this in the past and you have a starting point on how to access this.

You might call the speeches of former sources as coming from an International PNAC.

7. The most amazing thing was that CSPAN aired this meeting.
Edited on Sun Feb-28-10 02:36 PM by dixiegrrrrl
I watched it.
I heard it.
And while the language took some deciphering ( they have their own special vague but meaningful
language)
this one phrase stood out all the more because of the special vague language.
" Barney Frank". and " US gold".

THAT stood out.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn said the IMF was especially indebted to Barney Frank, Congress and something about US gold sales "which allowed IMF to function" ( in terms of something, I missed that).

Cspan carried this. Apparently no more big secret about the IMF.

edited to add:

Oh yeah, I also heard this distinctly...it was all the more chilling by the tone in which it was said:

"One day, the Fund might even be called upon to provide a globally issued reserve asset, similar to -- but in important respects different from -- the SDR,"
then he said: " but not yet, not ...quite....yet".

See what I mean by that "language"?

8. Here is his speech.
It may take a couple of viewings but I do encourage the effort.
I am still looking for the transcript.

This is our future, and it is happening.
