The American people are sick of process blocking progress. They're fed up with an
arbitrary tradition that allows a minority of Senators to prevent popular, much-
needed legislation from even coming to a vote.

Frankly, so am I.

Please sign this petition to my colleagues in the Senate, supporting the Harkin-Shaheen proposal or other similar proposals to eliminate the crippling 60-vote requirement to overcome a filibuster.

and changing the rules to benefit your position is cheating, no matter who proposes it.

Because when Dems are in the minority, and they will be, the filibuster is going to be our only hope that 'Pugs won't ram even more obscene laws down our throat. Of course that means that they Dems are going to have to actually stand up and fight, but that's an entirely different matter.

Rather than changing the rules, force the 'Pugs to do the actual filibuster, and use that to beat them over the heads as being obstructionists. But again, that takes a spine, something the Dems don't seem to have.

6. So you all do not want to go back to a working congress. The 60 vote

rule is not old and it does not work. If this is what we want then we can quit bitching about President Obama and the congress never getting anything done - it appears that is the way we want it. IMO we need to go back to the filibuster the way it was back in the 50s.
