Tony Perkins of Family Research Council Bumped From Prayer Lunch
And rightly so.

Tony Perkins, head of the Family Research Council and a fierce critic of the Obama administration, says he was uninvited from participation in the National Prayer Luncheon scheduled for Thursday at Andrews Air Force Base.

The reason? Perkins says the diss was due to his full-throated opposition to Obama's support for ending the "Don't ask, Don't tell" policy on gays serving in the military.

Invoking the witch hunts of the McCarthy era in the 1950s, Perkins said that like Communists of that era, he has been "blacklisted" for his views and renewed his argument that Obama would "force the military to embrace homosexuality":

"I am very concerned," Perkins said in a statement, "that this merely foreshadows the serious threat to religious liberty that would result from repeal of the current military eligibility law. Such legislation would not merely open the military to homosexuals. It would result in a zero-tolerance policy toward those who disapprove of homosexual conduct."

~snip~

It sounds as though Perkins and the Family Research Council (FRC) got a bigger megaphone by getting uninvited that he would have had by attending...

1. Good. Prayer breakfasts or any other
prayed-based functions should be removed from politics.

5. Well, Tony, maybe you should join your brethren in praying for bad things
to happen to Obama. That seems to be a good use of prayer. Plus the more they pray for his failure the better he gets.

6. Was He Actually Invited In The First Place?
Or is this Tony Perkins sham, usually invited but this time not, so he says he was uninvited?

7. I find it amusing that his org is called the "family Research Council". Where's
the research? What are they actually doing for families? Not a damn thing, right? They just go around screaming about gays and abortions.

I'm sure that's really helped a WHOLE lot of families...what a tool.
