A teabagger and a socialist met one day on Facebook . . .
The opening comment by FBer #1:
Ron Paul was greatly influenced by Ayn Rand....Ayn Rand was a sociopath. Now we will have all those young Ron Paul supporters holding up Ayn Rands scary capitalistic doctrine...

FBer #2: Thank you. I've been preaching this message for a long time.

FBer #1: I honestly did not know that RP was a student of Ayn Rand...she was a very smart woman but used it for evil...so scary...this scares me more than the tea baggers...

FBer #2: Oh yes she's a heroine to libertarians. And RP may call himself a Repub but he's a libertarian.

FBer #3: Ayn Rand is my philosophical mother. I am an objectivist. Guess u have to be one to understand why her doctrine was so impressive, especially during the time in which she wrote some of her books. Have u read Atlas Shrugged?? The Fountainhead? Atlas Shrugged changed my life.

FBer #2: And I read it and became a socialist.

FBer #3: well Im sorry for you then :) Too bad the country in which you live doesnt practice socialism

FBer #2: There's still time.

1. The proper response after FBer #3's first comment should have been:
Edited on Sat Feb-27-10 10:02 PM by FSogol
FBer #2: You really should move out of your parent's basement.

Remember: "There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."

7. We had to read it in high school and it bored me to tears so I read the Cliff Notes
Then I picked it up again years later and could barely get through it. It was not the least bit compelling.
