The next step in HC reform?

Should reconciliation be used, would the process allow for a 55+ Medicare or any other type of government insurance (public option) to be enacted?

2. That's Coming, But Not Yet...
Looks like the House will be pushed to pass the Senate Bill but attach some of its own provisions (public option??) that the Senate will then push through with reconciliation. The end game here is to find a bill that the House & Senate can live with. It will be interesting to see how the House/Senate negotiations go and who is at the table. I see Speaker Pelosi pushing for either Public Option or expansion of Medicare. The end game here is to get 51 or 50 (Biden breaks the tie) votes in the Senate. Right now I don't see the Public Option having it (look at the low number of signatures on the Bennett letter) but extending Medicare could have a bit more traction. Stay tuned...I think there's actually an end in sight here.

3. Hopefully
the next step will be a complete do-over. And hopefully some Dems will grow some courage. The current clusterfuck will actually leave some of us in an even worse position with respect to healthcare.

4. Rahm is talking with Pelosi..
So he is the point man for the WH. They have to get the House to agree to less than they agreed to in the past, in order to get the Senate bill passed.
