Just a thought., Could it be?...re: tea baggers are being duped along with the Dems?
Donning my tin foil hat, probably because of lack of sleep lol.

So essentially we have three political parties, three ideologies that are newsworthy enough and DU worthy to mention repeatedly. The Democrats, the Republicans and the Tea Baggers.

I've seen and heard the snickers of how the manufactured (hell, no grass roots going on here) Tea Party is siphoning off much needed votes from the GOP. Is that so?

What if the whole reason for manufacturing and creating the Tea Party is to make the GOP seem more moderate? More palatable to both GOP'ers and conservative Dems? What if there is some alternate reality that should be considered and at play with the general public?

Many if not most people see the political conservative/liberal spectrum in a very linear manner. Not only linear, but tendencies are to divide lines into equal lengths. Stay with me for a sec. Tea Party at one end, half way up, the GOP, and at the other end the Dems. Nice and tidy....no?

<--Tea Party----------------GOP--------------------Dems-->

While the we are congratulating ourselves over the idea that the Tea Party appears to be siphoning off votes from the GOP, is there something else is actually starting to play out? What may be really happening is that the disenchanted Conservative Dems are looking at the GOP as moderate in comparison to the ever more vocal, whacked out Tea party zealots. What if the GOP are actually retaining voters but the Consevadems are looking for something that "appears" more moderate? What if the Tea party was manufactured for the express purpose of bolstering the GOP?

Ok...trying to get some sleep now.

2. Duh, they are and always will be republican ass-tro turf
They just gave voice to their ever reincarnating John Bircher / Sage Brush Rebellion / Militia / Promise Keeper / and the latest: Tea Bagger wing-nuttery segment.

They keep their loonies close, and their votes closer.

5. Yup
all organized and everything. http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/1109/A_Tea_Party_party_arrives_in_Florida.html

But the group, the coalition, the 'party' is at this time has more of a philosophical stance than actual hope of a POTUS candidate. Still, my comments were more about the very vocal, well televised and advertised group and it's conservatithe comparisons along the imaginary scale. I'm thinking their duped purpose (whether they realize it or not), is to make other groups 'appear' more moderate or even too liberal.

7. Oh its funny
O'Liar and Gingrich going after Palin. Faux nuze going after Ron Paul for winning more votes than all the others combined at CPAC. Remember they kept him out of the debates last time? Ha ha ha. Is it too early to say what goes around comes around?
