Or something to that effect or even more detailed. I think that would really have gotten the pulse of the nation and would be hard pad the ballot box if you had to included your social security # on the form....would be very interesting to see the reults.

3. Politicize a census by asking an arbitrary question?
I favor reform, but not this reform. A lot of people think they are getting Canadian-style reform that Ive talked to (probably because the Republican freak out). Many favor that. But its not what they are getting.

Whats the point of asking a political question in a census if you don't actually know what they mean by favoring reform, or you can't determine if they even know what this reform is about?

4. How about "Do you have health insurance?"
I think the bastards would be shocked by the number who actually don't.

5. Having insurance doesn't guarantee one has appropriate access to health care

8. No, it sure as hell doesn't
but it would give Uncle Sugar a real idea of the number of uninsured, a number that is growing daily thanks to the economic disaster while they still quote that ten year old 40,000+/- 2000 number they always have.

It's a way to ask the question that really needs to be asked right now without politicizing it.

6. There are already plenty of reliable polls that say Americans overwhelmingly
want a robust and competitive public option.
