Eric Cantor said overwhelming majority of Americans...
Like their health insurance...yeah right.

They just don't want to lose their insurance because they have nothing to fall back on besides a crappier insurance.

Most seniors prefer Medicare to private insurance when given the choice.

1. To be fair, he said most people like their coverage, but it's too expensive. When
I had insurance that would have described me. I had great coverage, but it was too expensive.

8. I'm not sure if that describes...
The overwhelming majority of Americans. Also I'm not sure it makes sense for him to say "Americans like their private insurance...except they hate that it's so expensive."

That's like saying "They'd like it if they didn't hate it so much."

17. You're right - I can only speak for myself. I had extensive health issues and
my insurance covered them all, so I loved it, but hated the amount of the premiums. I wasn't denied any procedures which it appears is happening to more and more people these days.

11. That's been my experience! You love it untillk you have to
use it and find out what those 80/20 coverages really mean! How many tests are only partly covered, and how much a relatively simple procedure costs YOU out of pocket!

3. Stupid comment. If you like it, you can keep your insurance with HCR
And besides, the issue is the not insured. I bet those 30-40 million dislike their insurance.

4. Yes, more than 40 million Americans like being uninsured
Why don't you try it for a couple of decades, Mr. Cantor? And instead of being a member of Congress with a six-figure salary, let's put you in a crappy little job making about a fifth what you do now, with a tyrant for a boss, no prospects, and the specter of unemployment looming should you have to take a morning off or leave early one afternoon because your kid is throwing up and you have to rush him to the emergency room.

I would be greatly interested in your opinion of what the "overwhelming majority" of Americans think then.

6. Republicans/conservatives always state
that their opinions are shared by the "majority" of the country, and they point to small-sample, land-line telephone polls as proof, which is nothing but pure BS.

7. A majority of Americans like having health insurance
We don't like the insurance company.

But I guess if you twist some things you can make it sound that way.

9. As of this month my privilege to pay $1,100 a month to buy COBRA
is ending and due to pre-existing conditions and actually using my health care, I can't buy a policy on the open market.

I'm certainly NOT liking my lack of access to health care.

10. Most Americans who "like" their insurance
have never made a claim on it.

They just like feeling that they are covered, but haven't yet gotten sick enough to test the coverage.

Many of them will be in for a rude awakening.

15. Hard to imagine a bigger tool that Eric Cantor
Cantor's solution if you get sick: Sell your stuff, mortgage your entire future, and go totally broke. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/ybenjamin/detail?entry_id=48234">No joke -- not something the Onion made up.

21. But he's a rising star
That's the title that the MSM has bestowed on him. They couldn't mention him without adding that he is a rising star in the Republican Party. Hate to sound shallow but some politicians just piss me off by looking at them especially when combined with what I know about them. I have a problem with his arrogance and a smirk that puts Bush to shame. There are others.
