onward and upward?
"Not sure it's time to pop any corks quite yet. But TPM Reader AB makes a good, interesting point about the Sorba incident at CPAC ...

You know, one thing struck me about the clip from the CPAC meeting with Chris Sorba and his pseudo macho, but fundamentally infantile, homophobic rant.
As you alluded to, give credit to the audience for the fact that he was vociferously booed.

But really -- really -- think about that.

At a totally right wing extravaganza, someone speaking against homosexuality, which would have routinely endorsed by the right ten years ago, gets booed mercilessly.
Remember that only a few years ago anti-gay marriage initiatives were put on ballots to motivate the right wing base?

While I know there is not much to celebrate these days, the fact that acceptance of gay rights has seeped that far into the American mainstream is stunning.

Is this a great country, or what?'
