1. Don't you have to have a heart before you have a heart attack?
I think he goes to the hospital every 3 months to have his blood stirred.

I'm guessing that means his doctors predict a full recovery and no further testing or procedures needed?

But the spirit of evil will haunt us forever. The ghost of Cheney...anyone want to take bets where he will pop up and who he will bother? Maybe Bush at Crawford.

29. yes... and there may be more poetic "justice" to come
Edited on Tue Feb-23-10 02:53 PM by hlthe2b
There is quite a high probability his ultimate demise will come from congestive heart failure--with a lung so filled with fluid, it will be the equivalent of drowning--not at all unlike being waterboarded. I don't wish that on anyone and he might escape with a massive blockage (MI) or stroke, but the odds suggest he may well feel that particular pain in the end that he inflicted on others.

20. I read that he's had four before this one
I guess the limits are determined by the individual heart. I thought that a heart attack usually damages a part of a heart. But I don't know if the damage is always extensive and permanent.

28. True
Each heart attack results in the loss of some heart muscle to the point there isn't enough left to push the blood out and about. HOWEVER, an OTC supplement called CoEnzyme Q10 helps the heart muscle regenerate itself. After two MIs, 1993 and 1995, I started on CoQ10--in addition to doctor-prescribed meds. Cardiac function went from 48% post-MIs to about 75% now. The figure of 75% is recognized as that of a normal heart. (PLEASE do not mention this fact to Dick Cheney or any of his health-care team.) While there is research and literature that support the use of CoQ10, 200 mg daily, the practice hasn't yet become standard for cardiac care in the U.S. Just slow to deconstruct the myth that damaged cardiac muscle can never be repaired.

56. we gave COQ10 to our dog
there were a couple of dogs from her litter that had heart problems. Our dog lived until she was 13 (choco lab) she was the last in her litter to go.

Another thing about COQ10, is that some cosmetics are starting to use it. It's great stuff. I just cut open the pills and put it directly on my skin. Does wonders!

Or attacks we know nothing about.

My ex-mother-in-law lives on the main residential street that runs from the VP's residence to Bethesda Naval Hospital. She's elderly and is often awake late a night watching TV. She would tell me time and again how she'd see these convoys of black SUVs shooting up Reno Road in the middle of the night from Observatory Circle heading towards Bethesda.

Makes ya wonder doesn't it?

patient. IIRC, first heart attacks are fatal over 60% of the time.

I had at least 2 myself.

46. I remember reading something years ago written by a doctor who had
access to his medical records. The doctor stated that there was no way he should be alive with the heart problems he has. All I can say is that he must be getting some really state of the art medical care that is keeping him alive, maybe oxygen masks at night, a special cocktail of drugs, and it seems when he's not in public he is pushed around in a wheel chair.
