HCR Reconcilitation Thread (updated daily) We're getting closer!!!
We need at least 50 to force a Biden tie breaker vote. By my count, including the Republicans, it's 48 - 49 - 3 for Reconciliation, based on information that Cantwell will vote against reconciliation. Someone needs to lose in a primary!

Let's look at the 26 who have stated to use Reconciliation (according to Countdown). Let's assume we have those:

Feinstein, Kerry, Sanders, Brown, Whitehouse, Bennet, Burris, Gillibrand, Merkeley, Franken, Leahy, Schumer, Reed, Boxer, Udall, Mikulski, Shaheen, Lautenberg, Durbin, Specter, Casey, Dorgan, Cardin, Bingamen, Menendez, Wyden

The following are definite "yes" votes: (22 total yes votes)
Byrd - WV; Udall - CO; Rockefeller - WV; Kohl - WI; Feingold - WI; Inouye - HI; Akaka - HI; Levin - MI; Stabenow - MI; Tester - MT; Harkin - IA; Webb - VA; Warner - VA; Dodd - CT; Murray - WA; Carper - DE; Kaufman - DE; McCaskill - MO; Klobuchar - MN; Bayh - IN; Hagan - NC
Reid - NV (if the votes are there)

Kay Hagan responded to some callers to her office, stating she is on board with reconciliation. I moved her from the "maybe" column to the "yes" column.

The following are definite "maybe" votes: (3) votes
Begich - AK (being a DEM in AK has advantages. He may be one term and we can use that for our advantage.)
Conrad - ND (Since I have not heard a peep from him, he's in the maybe section. Someone help me out.)
Johnson - SD (Since I have not heard a peep from him, he's in the maybe section. Someone help me out. Conserva-Dem.)

The following are the "no" votes, the Blue Dog, DINO-moles in the Senate: (8 votes)
Baucus - MT (expect revenge for Reid's "spine" on the jobs bill. Too asshole.)
Bill Nelson - FL (no completely. Too bought.)
Ben Nelson - NE (no completely. Too selfish.)
Pryor - AR (No chance for his vote. Too brain dead.)
Cantwell - WA (WILL NOT SUPPORT RECONCILIATION.)
Lincoln - AR (COUNTDOWN SAID SHE WILL NOT SUPPORT RECONCILIATION.)
Landrieu - LA (COUNTDOWN SAID SHE WILL NOT SUPPORT RECONCILIATION.)
Lieberman - CT (COUNTDOWN SAID SHE WILL NOT SUPPORT RECONCILIATION.)

We do not have it. Expect 41 no votes (45 with these DINO assholes).

Right now, it's 48 yes, 3 maybe and 8 no.

We're geting there. Remember, I am predicting that if we go through reconciliation and get the Public Option, it will be landslide victory for Democrats in November. I am beginning to think the entire charade was done by Barack and Harry to paint the Republicans into a corner and, if I am right, the political gamesmanship was excellent. Give in, give in, give in. . .show the Republicans can't be worked with, then railroad through the legislation as quickly as possible close to election as American voters have, at best, a six month memory.

Keep up the heat!!!

1. If this was all political gamesmanship, it's a stroke of genius.
I'll watch with caution ...

2. I'm pretty sure Conrad would be a no
He pooped all over the public option throughout the debate. Remember, the sham co-ops were the only type of PO he would agree to. He also was waffling on the Medicare expansion. Johnson is a banking industry prostitute so probably a safe bet he won't vote for it. That leaves Begich. Efforts need to concentrate, there. That only gets us to 49. Conrad's objection is his contention that Medicare reimbursement rates in ND are so low that most of the hospitals would be put out of business with a PO that reimburses on the Medicare model. Only hope I see for him is if something were done to increase the Medicare reimbursement for ND. I don't expect that to happen.

Are we sure Baucus won't vote for it? He was prepared to vote for it in the blended bill Reid wrote, I believe. Is he opposed to doing it under reconciliation?

Something else we have lost sight of is that a lot of the MA voters who went for Brown wanted HCR but not the Senate bill that was to be voted on. I wonder if Brown would go for it? Doubtful but the MA voters were pissed off about the Senate bill that did not include a PO.

3. This is why I update update daily. I look for sources everywhere
I don't post changes unless I get sources from two areas.

Baucus is a no until I hear otherwise. Conrad is a maybe until I hear otherwise.

I will adjust until we have 50 (plus Biden's yes).
