LONDON: A British military helicopter that crashed in Iraq last year, killing five personnel, was shot down by a surface-to-air missile, the government said Friday.

An official military inquiry concluded that the Lynx helicopter "was shot down by a surface-to-air missile, using a man-portable air defense system, fired from the ground," Armed Forces Minister Adam Ingram said.
