Make the Republicans say it!

Make them say that all Democrats are socialists.
Not just the Becks and Limbaughs.
I'm sick of all of them calling Obama a socialist. Call them out on it. Tell them to show you a Socialist website or paper that is praising Obama. They can't.
That must mean that the Socialists are so clever and so organized and so nefarious that they've all agreed not to praise Obama.

Or it means that it's a lie.
Every Democratic congressman and senator should ask, "Are you calling me a Socialist?"
Every ironworker, auto worker and union member should ask, "Are you calling me a Socialist?"
Everybody who voted Democratic, about half the country; should ask, "Are you calling me a Socialist?"

Take the personal and make it universal. Make them say it, "Are you talking to me. Are you calling me a Socialist?".

Make them draw the battle line. Then we'll see where we stand.

Bailing out Wall Street banks?
Bailing out General Motors?
Mandatory private health insurance?
Extended unemployment benefits?
Middle-class tax cuts?
The stimulus package they voted against but praised when it benefited their own districts?

I don't like the idea of asking, "Are you calling me a socialist?" It plays into the perception that "socialist" is an insult. Bernie Sanders is a socialist (or more accurately, a democratic socialist), and he's one of my favorite Senators.

it's far easier to throw lame insults at people than actually come up with strategies and move forward. republicans excel at stalling. in the past three years, they've held 200 filibusters...wow. no significant legislation has been passed in four decades.
the republicans cry "Terrorist!" and the country shuts up long enough for them to make loads of cash on homeland security and private investments in the middle east. The Democrats have no spine, let's face it. They never stand up for anything, even if it's something they promised to stand up for. Obama has shown more that he is the exact opposite of a socialist with his war mongering, wall street bailouts and nuclear energy plan. But, like I said, it's easier to point at people and call them names than actually dissect issues and plans. That means you'd actually have to govern! Holy shit, what a thought!
Neither side is getting anything done since all we ever do is fight amongst ourselves like two kids on the playground.
