1. I am not seeing a President in that video
as much as the American people taking to the streets. If Roosevelt was pushing a progressive agenda it was because that is what the people were demanding.

5. They are just as dire economically
Difference is we have a social safety net that is preventing people from hitting rock bottom.

Judging from what I'm reading on State Budgets in 2010, that net is about to be lowered a little closer to the ground.

6. We are seeing the beginning of that now, with the teabaggers.
"Personality cults" around demagogues like Palin are strikingly similar to what occurred in Europe during the 1930s.
