"Are you aware of the fact that if you work overtime, you are hurting your brothers and sisters that are being laid off," the flier reads.
"Not working overtime means, not working your days off, extra hours work and finishing a snipe," in otherwords, covering someone else's shift.
The flier -- distributed at the Forest Glen and Chicago Avenue garages on Feb. 7 or 8 -- includes the name of the bus operator, Sandra Simmons.
She subsequently was yanked from service and recommended for "termination" because the CTA contends she violated the rules by "encouraging a job action."
"Any employees who engage in or encourage illegal job actions are subject to discipline," said CTA spokeswoman Noelle Gaffney. "We have to put service out on the street -- customers depend on it -- and employees are expected to do their jobs."
