Bush Clarifies 'Democrat Majority' Gaffe

Tuesday January 30, 2007 3:01 AM

By BEN FELLER

Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON (AP) - This one has gotten a little ic-ky for the White House. President Bush said Monday he wasn't trying to disparage the party now running Congress by referring to it as the ``Democrat majority,'' as opposed to the ``Democratic majority,'' in his State of the Union speech.

``That was an oversight,'' Bush said in an interview with National Public Radio. ``I mean, I'm not trying to needle.''

Bush's dropping of the ``ic'' at the end of the word prompted grumbling by Democrats that he purposely got their name wrong.

This is not a new charge. President Reagan used to refer to the ``Democrat Party.'' Democratic leaders have long considered it demeaning when their suffix is omitted, and some of them figured it was no accident in a speech as highly choreographed and rehearsed as Bush's State of the Union.

Bush said he wasn't even aware that he had done it.

``I meant to be saying, why don't we show the American people we can actually work together?'' Bush said.

1. So he never did offer an apology...just talked around it!
He never did say he wouldn't do it again. I hope our leadership remains sharp enough not to fall for anything he says. He will stab you in the back every time.

7. All this stuff is red herring to distract us from the theft of the
national treasury. When this group is done, there won't be any money left for our country's needs, let alone our wants.

3. Buillshit, he did it on purpose.
It was written as Democratic and he chose not to say it. There was even a slight pause before he said it.

4. He's having to answer for it
Okay, he's still not apologizing, the smarmy little weasel, but at least we got a public discussion, which is a lot more that we've gotten for six years. Maybe that Democratic majority is worth a little more than we thought, hmmm?

5. What the hell is this guy blabbering about?
This from the same article, ``There is distrust in Washington. I am surprised, frankly, at the amount of distrust that exists in this town,'' Bush said. ``And I'm sorry it's the case, and I'll work hard to try to elevate it.'' Is he trying to say he is elevating the trust or maybe he meant alleviate the mistrust. Does anyone in the media mention that Bush has become practically incoherent! I believe that he is such a pathological liar he has lost any ability to communicate on a rational level.

6. So, this just verifies the psycho can't read either! Chris Matthews and Brian Williams (?) BOTH
verified that the speech, as WRITTEN, said DEMOCRATIC. They were reading along on their copies and the speech had it right...the psycho just can't read. He's an illiterate BUFFOON.
