Are you a constructive member of society?
Do you break the law?

Do you give more than you take?

Do people depend on you?

If you think you are, then by what metric do you judge yourself to be constructive?

5. Why do you ask? Do you have a proposal for those you think
are not constructive members of society?

I don't break the law.

I take very little, so I don't have to give much. I am involved in helping businesses create effective websites. I volunteer in several areas. I am active politically at the local level. I help keep my mother-in-law out of assisted living.

I prefer to be around people who are not dependent. My wife and I are in a partnership. There are no dependency issues.

So, yes, I think I'm a constructive member of society. Your opinion may differ.

How about you coming up with your list of what makes for a constructive member of society? How about answering your own questions?

26. The vast majority of people think they are above average vehicle drivers
By definition that cannot be so. Half of the people drive their cars worse than average - myself included. I'm not a good driver.

There are various reasons for this, primarily the reasons our brains are made and how our consciousness functions.

Anyway, there are lots of people out there who, on balance, do not contribute to the wellbeing of our society. Some people can't help it - the elderly, the blind, the quadriplegics, etc. Other can but won't contribute. It is the tax frauds, the layabouts, people who get drunk every weekend and have to police called to their houses, and the ilk. I am interested in how they justify their ways. This is one such means to discover answers to that question.

28. You have still not answered your own questions. That is
dishonest of you. If you are not willing to answer the questions you posed to others, then please don't ask. I'm serious about this.

You seem to be judging who is and is not a contributing member of society, yet you are unwilling to address your own questions. Why is that? And baking cookies isn't an answer. It is an excuse.

Are you a constructive member of society? Yes.

Do you break the law? Some I respect more than others. I speed a lot. I make a lot of illegal U turns.

Do you give more than you take? I pay lots in taxes. I don't require a lot of public services. I won't send my kid to public schools, for example. I provide a service for people in my job that they appreciate.

Do people depend on you? Many.

If you think you are, then by what metric do you judge yourself to be constructive? Not causing a bother while providing or my family and my employees and their families.

I'm a survivor in a sciety that treats me as a throwaway and has no concern for something as basic as my physical well being and survival. My loyalties and priorities are to provide for myself and my family. My contribution to the society that doesn't give a fuck about me is to support those who advance and protect my needs and interests within that society.

21. Constructive? I work in construction
but I usually tear down buildings.

Seriously though, I have no clue if I'm a constructive member of society. I guess it depends on whose rules I'm judged by.

By stiff right wing nuts who think I should go to "church", not drink when I want, etc? Probably not.

I break some laws. I won't say which. But they're pretty small. I don't really have anyone who depends on me, except work wise which we all have.

And I think we here, if we honestly judge ourselves, are very constructive. I think being this active in politics like everyone here is about as constructive as we can get. The shaping of ideas is what led to freedom and this country forming, ideas being pushed led to civil rights, and it will be people like us who keep freedom alive. So yeah, I'd say if we honestly rate ourselves, we're pretty constructive.

society is better for my being here. I have to say yes
I designed and manufacture something that saves the taxpayers millions (I make an OK average living - not wealthy)
People depend on me to do my job.
I make people laugh
My wife and I raised two great kids

(paraphrased) It seems that it's the highly motivated people in society who are causing the most damage. It takes lots of motivation to be a serial killer, to be a greedy Wall Street con artist, to run the government into the ground... the guy who sleeps and watches TV all day probably isn't hurting anyone at all.

I have more debt to corporations than I can possibly repay, I have only saved a relatively few equally valueless lives, and although I maintain an individual of a Threatened Species, nobody has any real ideas for rebuilding enough habitat for any potential progeny to work on a viable repopulation program.

So, what's the point of this thread? Does the OP have in mind any sort of solution to the problem of people like me?
