During the eight years I have lived in this small Arizona town, I can't think of one instance where John McCain has come up here to talk with us Little People, us Country Folk, about what we think about anything. (Not that I would bother attending, after the debacle of his campaign in 2008, and his anemic form-letter responses to every letter I ever wrote him).
So, all of a sudden, now that he is being challenged, we are treated in my small town to some kind of Town Hall meeting from the King of AZ, John McCain.
I am trying to "read" this intellectually and strategically. This town is so small that I doubt he has much to gain unless he is truly worried that AZ might be turning more progressive, which it has been, apparently.
Just for what is worth I offer that: King McCain is now indulging the little people of Arizona. The Foreclosed. The Homeless. The uneducated. The Veterans. The Orphans. We got 'em all up here. Sometimes this city is portrayed as a resort, but we are suffering.
