Did you see Moyer's interview with Jon Stewart? Jon laid it out pretty succinctly; Gonzo allowed himself to be made a fool of and go down in history as a pinhead in order to protect his bosses.

Bush is doing the same thing with his veto. I still don't believe a man who cannot complete a simple sentence has ever been in any sort of control over this situation. He's gonna take this one for the team. He has to. Literally, I'd bet -- he simply has to. Billions and billions of dollars and years and years of jail time for a LOT of very powerful people are at stake.

3. Am watching Moyers now, with Jon Stewart. I am split between joy at

seeing many of our thoughts here played out for all to see (finally) - and frustration and sadness that the misadministration has done this to the world - aided by the media (again, Moyers marvellously revealing story about the media complicitness leading up to the Iraq war). Bill Moyers - true Patriot. Jon Stewart - Patriot, genius.
