his family - to have a shot from a helicopter above of Tiger's SUV leaving this statement/apology event.

They vultures.

1. Meh - he shouldn't have taken his family to the event
if he didn't want them photgraphed from the helicopter.

2. And he should have simply issued a statement
if he wasn't going to allow question or even cameras.

6. It was a part of his therapy and as a part of therapy making amends has to be don in person.

8. If his aim was to personally apologize to the public via the media

without allowing them to question him or make recordings, then he shouldn't have invited them at all--a webcam would have done the job just as well.

And I'm not surprised that this had the PGA's blessing--in Tiger's abscence, their TV revenues alone must really be circling the drain.

3. He didn't take his family to the event.
His mother was there, but his immediate family was not.

What the hell are you talking about?

5. Then why is this 'tacky'?
I assumed since the OP brings up his family, this involved a picture of his family. Why is it tacky to show Woods leaving a press statement that he arranged? Is there something worse about a shot of Woods from a helcopter than one from the ground?

4. Corporate media is, as corporate media does..
So what can you expect?

The only thing you can do is to kick them in the coin purse by turning their noise off..

9. If it weren't for all that media Tiger wouldn't have all the millions he now enjoys.
Fuck him. When you lie down with dogs you will get up with fleas.

10. I saw the media video tape, from a helicopter, children playing outside
while waiting for the grownups to take them to their father's funeral. Now that's tacky.

12. Woods has made hundreds of millions in sponsorships
by being in the public eye. He has used his family as stage props for this purpose. It is too late to take it back now -- unless he wants to give back the money he made as a result of it.

13. What a strange thing to say. Being a fan of good golf, I watch some tournaments and most Majors.
I couldn't pick his wife out of a crowd, and don't even know HOW MANY kids he has, much less their gender.

Up until this thing broke, I didn't even know his wife's name.

Are you sure you're not mixing him up with Sarah Palin somehow?

14. You apparently don't watch his commercials and ads
You also apparently don't see any newspapers, magazines or internet about him. Since I avoid all things Palin, especially the thousands of posts about her on DU, I don't know your reference.
