So I watched Morning Joe from 5:40 till 7.
And it was all about spending (with a little Olympics and Tiger Woods thrown in). The kept coming back time and again to entitlement spending, and how it had to be changed to fix the budget. Not one mention the entire time about demilitarizing our society or pulling back the trappings of the American Empire. Big surprise.

5. Thanks for watching
Interesting to see how the terms of the discussion get set, isn't it? And as you mentioned, all this blather about federal spending, and nary a peep about the biggest budget item of them all. Blackwater gots to get paid; grandma, not so much.

6. It's not a big surprise that the greedy and stupid blame the poor and...
elderly in times of crisis. I imagine Joe and Mika would have been great at boosting Nazi Germany while selling coffee at the same time.

Hubby and I usually have it on while we're getting ready for work. Hubby needs to hear a little news in the morning, and we can't stand Kiran Chetry or John Roberts. Faux is definitely not an option. So, we usually end up with Crazy Joe and his wife, Mika.

It can be really painful listening to him spew his repuke talking points, while Mika coos.

Why do we do it to ourselves? Maybe we like getting all worked up first thing? I dunno...

10. It would be nice if there was just one morning show that wasn't just RW talking point crap repeated.
The Republican news junkies are watching Faux and Friends.

Why was MSNBC so stupid to alienate the people who watch their channel most of the time?

I generally avoid MOJO because it just pisses me off but sometimes catch a little since I do like some guests.

There is spectrum of Dems who watched and eventually gave up watching it because it wasn't worth the aggravation but there is really nothing decent on in the morning which sucks.

I stopped watching a long time ago but followed a lot of people on Twitter who watched so I generally could tell what was going on by their chatter. They have all stopped watching. That can't be good for their ratings. These are the standard MSNBC watchers (like me).

So f@#king stupid on the part of MSNBC.

12. I heartly agree. I have friends who work fot the station and I tell them....
the same thing. Can you imagine the ratings for that time slot if they even produced a show that was balanced? What a shame.

13. Right. It wouldn't have to be Dem leaning (although that would be nice). If it just wasn't RW then
it would get a loyal contingent. The same people who watch their damn channel the rest of the time. Joe spewing his crap isn't balanced at all. The idea that Scarborough is neutral or fair is just a joke and Mika has internalized WAAAY TOO MUCH of the RW blather she is surrounded by both on TV and on the Radio with Joe.

If they just had a consistent Dem on to counter Joe during the entire show - not just for some segments - that would help. But they don't.

There are only two time periods that I don't generally watch MSNBC if I'm around home. MOJO and Ratigan (I had enough of him and mentally & physically shut him off before he even moved to the afternoon). I know exactly what times not to bother with MSNBC.

8. And until recently it was "Jobs, jobs, jobs!" Fun watching a little baby meme get born, isn't it?
Joe is the RW's meme test bed. If it seems to fly there, it flies everywhere by the end of the day.

14. K&R to attempt to undo the usual, inscrutable UnReKKK, to no avail
The O.P. did some opposition research and documented his observations----what's wrong with that (not an actual QUESTION).

There are THOUSANDS of similar threads from here all the way through the Archives. It's a legitimate topic offering for like-minded Democratic partisans, like us.

To those who question, "Why did you watch?!1 Why do you even WATCH T.V.?!1 Why don't you watch what you already AGREE WITH?!1"--- a responding questions is, "Why do you post in threads you dislike?!1"
