Owner of Multi-Million Dollar Company Hands Over Business to Employees

"Before the words "whole grain" and "organic" became part of Americans' everyday vocabulary, Bob Moore knew the importance of healthful eating.

In 1978, he started Bob's Red Mill Natural Foods, as a small family-run business in Oregon selling stone mill-ground whole grains.

The company has since grown into a multi-million dollar business that sells more than 400 whole grain products including flours, hot cereals, and organic and gluten-free products.

Moore is dedicated to making America healthier and he believes Bob's Red Mill is a small part of the solution..."

2. COMMUNIST!
Does he not understand his role is to sell this sucker for as much money as possible to massive conglomerate or a hedge fund who will destroy it part by part for profit?

6. Bob shops at my workplace!
Bob has been a regular customer at my workplace for years, and has always been a pleasure to deal with. My workplace is just starting in on a plan to culminate in employee ownership; Bob just showed that you don't need a gaggle of litigators and a five year plan. He just handed the company over to his 209 employees.

Great job, Bob. You are always tops in my book!

14. Bob & Bob's Red Mill ROCKS!
Their thick-cut oats are awesome. Their machine bread mixes astounded me, didn't taste like machine-made bread. Their Cannellini beans are to die for (but sadly, they've gotten way more expensive than I'm willing to pay). So many other great products, and now this! Right on.
