Joseph Andrew Stack Revised His Death Letter 27 Times Before Settling On The Final Draft

Vince Veneziani | Feb. 18, 2010, 1:39 PM | 1,146 |

By now, everyone knows who Austin Texas crash pilot Joe Stack is.

But his manifesto hosted on EmbeddedArt.com holds clues to how angry he must have been. Diving into the HTML source of the website shows that he generated his manifesto using Microsoft Word.

And Microsoft Word loves to leave in the details. Let's take a look:

Looking at the above screenshot, you can see he revised the document 27 times. Additionally, he started the document two days ago on February 16th at 7:24 PM. He saved his final draft this morning at 6:42 in the morning.

3. I honestly think he should of focused on the last 66% a bit more.
He had a good introduction and all, but it fell to pieces.

I mean, do I really care about the guys father?

7. Since when does Microsoft Word do THAT? It's not in "properties"
when I type up MY Word documents. Where are they getting that from? Or are they just making this shit up?

8. Word stores every damned thing in its documents.
It's amazing what you can find in a Word document when you look at it with something other than Word. These days, with the new Word document .docx format, even more can be seen with a simple text editor, especially if revision marking is turned on.

What you see on the Word screen is not all that is in the document.
