In the following Chicago Tribune article, the newspaper addresses how Former Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert (Republican) is spending lots of taxpayer dollars under little-known rules allowing such costs.

3. Hassart funds the rent of an office for his new business staff with our tax dollars.
"When taxpayers give a million dollars, they intend specifically for the former speaker to wind down and finish his old job, and not for him to have a second career," said Charles Tiefer, a professor at the University of Baltimore School of Law. Tiefer, a Democrat, is the former deputy general counsel of the House. I agree with Mr. Tiefer.

Glad to hear he can't do work with certain countries like Turkey...

4. Newt Gingrich: "That's not a topic I want to talk about,"
:eyes:

If Nancy Pelosi wants to raise her (and Democrats') approval numbers she could push to put some restrictions on this kind of shit. But that would ultimately hurt her when she needs her "transition office".

5. "Hastert could have spent considerably more if he wanted."

IS that a threat? We should be happy he didn't take more? Yet? One of the biggest scumbags ever to "serve" in congress. I'm gonna go puke now.
