1. Mind you, I'm not watching the Olympics but I have MSNBC news alerts on my iphone
that would really piss me off if I was watching it.

NBC should really really be banned from doing the Olympics - they do a horrible job!.

4. I see your point, but I don't really care about watching it 'live'. Although... I
thought I WAS because it's on MSNBC now, and I got the alert via a CNN e-mail.

3. Why the need for a spoiler alert about a sporting event?
Anyone who really cared about the outcome could watch it on live TV right?

5. No. NBC isn't showing it live. They tape it and show it at night during prime time.

7. A prime time live downhill race would be cool
Sure it would be dusk in Vancouver but give the skiers an extra challenge

9. I didn't even think about the hour it would have to occur to be shown live in
prime time -- you're right. This one would have been a nail biter what with her injury and all.

Maybe Apolo will be live tonight, that always gets me on the edge of my seat, too.

6. No -- they show different segments on TV. For example, MSNBC is currently
showing hockey (and has been for quite a while).

And I gave the spoiler because some people enjoy watching the event without knowing the outcome. I was being considerate.

11. Thank you! Now I can enjoy watching that and not being a nervous wreck!
Some of these things I get WAY too into.

I'm also prone to skipping directly to the end of the book to find out how it ends. Then I can relax and enjoy the story. Life already throws you too many curve balls and surprise endings. When I'm reading for enjoyment, I'd rather have a sure thing. Yeah, 'fraid I'm one of THOSE.

12. I kind of felt the same way about the Apolo Ohno race when he got a silver -
It was intense and surprising enough even knowing the outcome.

With her, I would have been waiting for her to fall every second and re-injuring her leg -- not a 'fun' experience.

I stopped reading the end of books in about the third grade -- also stopped unwrapping and re-wrapping my Christmas presents. I missed the surprise and eager anticipation. But it's different when a person is involved -- and as I said, I would have been a wreck worrying about her all the way down the hill. :hi:
