WASHINGTON — The military’s highest court says it will review the conviction of an Army reservist whom prosecutors portrayed as the ringleader of detainee abuse at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.

Former Cpl. Charles Graner Jr. was sentenced in 2005 to 10 years in prison for his role in the scandal.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces in Washington said Tuesday it will consider whether the trial judge erred by refusing to let jurors see memos approving “enhanced interrogation tactics” for detainees.

Graner, from Uniontown, Pa., was accused of stacking naked prisoners in a human pyramid and ordering them to masturbate while other soldiers took photographs. He also allegedly knocked out a prisoner with a punch to the head.

2. When they hold someone above the rank of light colonel responsible ...

... for any scandal, I'd like to hear about it.

Not counting that brig general in the guard or reserve they went after, either. I'm talking about regular military.

The military likes to promote the story of the guy who selflessly throws himself on a grenade to save his comrades in arms, but the reality is higher ranking regular military will always find someone to throw on those grenades - a reservist, a guardsman, a lower ranking guy. That torture and all manner of incompetence by military have gone unchecked and unaccounted for by anyone of importance is yet another indictment of the military and of the politicians charged with the military oversight.

They all work for the same corporate interests that make the Pentagon order military materiel, so that certain manufacturers will build them, filling the pockets of certain politicians, so that the policies abroad will keep high the demand for such products.

Ike warned us of this. Our WWII hero, a Republican, warned us of this months before Bay of Pigs.

We need to take back the pentagon, the military, and our management of both.
