don't bother, you're belaboring the obvious.
it's always a good bet to say that politicians lie. but to bet that politicians lie as they leave their seat of power is as close to a sure thing as you can get.
eisenhower was concerned about the military-industrial complex he helped create? please. you won't have dick nixon to kick around anymore? if only.
did ANY politician REALLY think spending a bit more time with their family was worth giving up all the power, perks, and prestige? come to think of it, how many who SAID they were going to spend more time with their family actually ended up spending more time with their family?
oh, and who can forget, quitting to help the lower 48?
face it, "i'm quitting to ride the lobbyist/bookwriting/speechgiving gravy train" just doesn't sound particularly good.
