Complaining about an entertainment show tends to make it more controversial and consequently drives up ratings.

Palin got to serve both Fox and her base. Who knows the whole escapade could be a cynical ploy between herself and Murdoch. I can picture her now slipping off to his yacht to sip champagne, engage in an orgy and mock the little people that she and Rupert manipulate so easily.
