Could be a nightmare of a position. Or it could be the best job one ever gets. I post this as a public service to DUers near NYC looking for an adventure.

Story Structure/Writing Tutor
About the Job
JOB DESCRIPTION:

Conceptual artist in midtown is seeking a trained professional to tutor him in the art of story
structure. While he has many story ideas written down he needs help
translating the concepts into easy-to-follow building blocks of
narrative. The ideal candidate does not think that simply because he or
she is a writer, he or she can help him write.

Seeking someone
familiar with Victoria Lynn Schmidt's book "Story Structure Architect;"
Robert McKee's "Story: Substance, Structure, Style, and the Principles
of Screenwriting" or other similarly oriented works.

Must be
intuitive and able to relate well with all kinds of people. To be
considered for this position you must be comfortable working in a
home-office setting. The ideal candidate also has an extreme
appreciation for the absurd and does not shock easily.

This is
not a full time position and would be a good addition to someone
currently working in the screenwriting or story-boarding profession.

Professional College Graduates with RELEVANT EXPERIENCE ONLY, please

TO APPLY:

*Leave in place the structure below & add your responses
* DO NOT add anything to the structure (no greetings etc.) -
*
Be succinct - I would write "make every word count" - but I literally
mean I do not want to read any words that dont convey USEFUL
information - realize that phrases like "make every word count" are a
total waste of space
Thank You! The instructions are not meant to be unfriendly - just to be efficient :)

APPLICATION:

1) Education
University:
Year Graduated:
Degree :
2) State relevant experience in story structure and the writing process (school projects or professional work)
3) State why you are well suited to the position based on job description. (in three bullets)
4) Availability
5) Phone and name

3. Sounds like an ad that's really something else...
Like somebody gathering research for a graduate school thesis.

6. Sounds awful.
The person wants someone who will ghost write for him and pay them part time pay. And the ad is just so arrogant. The person can't spend anymore time than necessary reading one extra word?

What a schmuck.
