Hot cocoa, chocolate ice cream cones, JuJu Bees, root beer floats--these are are some of the treats my kids enjoy when they spend an afternoon with their grandparents.

Do I care? Not really. My parents watch my kids only a few times a month. I'm careful about feeding my children a healthy diet and limiting their media time when they're at home, so I figure a little indulgence won't hurt. My kids love spending time at their grandparents' house. It's the only place where they don't hear "no" constantly. Why tamper with the relationship?
A new study reveals that grandparents don't always know best when it comes to eating a healthy diet.
But a new British study indicates that time spent eating candy and watching TV with grandma and grandpa might boost a child's obesity risk.
"Analysis of 12,000 three-year olds suggested the risk was 34% higher if grandparents cared for them full time," the BBC reports. "The results showed that those looked after by grandparents part-time had a 15% higher risk of being overweight for their age compared with those solely looked after by their parents."
