We are really screwed as a country. republicans, and enough Democrats don't want real reform, whether it is HCR or financial reform

This will come back to haunt us

The Europeans are against the proprietary trading, and Obama has doubts that it can pass Congress

When the president presents the plan, and then comes out and practically admits defeat before any real debate starts, there is no wonder why real HCR will not pass

2. More than proprietary trading rules we need a mechanism to take over and liquidate big banks
This needs to be priority number one.
