Florida woman gunned down by stalker; judge who did nothing has shady past
Edited on Mon Feb-15-10 08:10 PM by brentspeak
http://www.aolnews.com/crime/article/alissa-blanton-killed-by-stalker-after-judge-denied-protection-order/19356645">A central Florida woman was shot and killed in her workplace by a stalker just one week after a judge denied her request for an emergency order of protection against the man, authorities said.

The judge who could have prevented this tragedy is named John Dean Moxley -- the same John Dean Moxley who, as a former prosecutor, has been implicated in http://wdbo.com/liveweb/comments/abuse/3780833/">coaching a crooked witness to provide false testimony that resulted in an http://www.sptimes.com/2004/11/14/State/Guilty_until_proven_i.shtml">innocent man being convicted in a sexual assault case (since exonerated and freed).

4. My daughter had no problems getting a restraining order...
against a stalker in Florida, and she had less cause for one than this lady.

But the restraining order didn't seem to stop him. After numerous violations of the order the judge finally got fed up and ordered him arrested. The case went to trial and he spent a number of weekends in jail.

My daughter has a concealed carry permit and carries. During one of the hearings about his violating the restraining order, the stalker filed a motion to have her license revoked and a mistake at the courthouse resulted in my daughter getting a notice to turn her permit in. She immediately called the judge and got the matter straightened out.

We were never able to figure out why this fool decided to stalk my daughter. They had no relationship at all. He was stalking one of my daughter's friends and decided to include my daughter in his fun and games.

The restraining order was my idea and I was disappointed in the enforcement of the order. The stalker had reached the point where he felt it would never be enforced and I was really worried that my son in law would take matters into his own hands. Things might have got out of hand at that point.

Fortunately all is well that ends well. My daughter does see him on occasion, but he doesn't stalk her anymore. He just minds his own business.

6. Restraining orders are practically worthless to those who are intent
on doing the crime. I'm glad your daughter got her ccw and took her own safety into her hands. The police only come after the fact and can't do anything to keep the stalker away unless they actually catch them in the act.

One of my dearest friends was so harassed by her ex-husband that she ended up taking her own life to escape. He literally drove her insane with fear despite everything she tried to legally get him out of her life.

to face a florida judge.

I had former houseguest/roomie break in and clobber me with a heavy skillet.
The short of it is that he wanted the rent to buy coke with and I would not give it to him. I put him out after he slugged me.
He broke in later and clobbered me, then called the cops and said I tried to kill him. They beat the shit out of me and pepper sprayed me while i was having a grand mal seizure. I spent 8 months in county lock up, for resisting arrest. I was having a f in grandmal seizure I was full blown AIDS and had a plug in my chest for IV administering medicine. When I got out I had to go immediatly to have it out and a big hole left in my chest. The judge told me to stfu when I wanted to plead not guilty to charges and speak my piece.
I did not even get a chance to ask for a restraining order.
I have a gun now and am very wary of anyone that could be a stalker.
