Harry Reid may face "tea party" challenge
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has a new challenger in his 2010 reelection campaign — but this one isn't a Republican.

Nevada columnist Jon Ralston reports that a group calling itself the Tea Party has qualified to appear on the ballot in 2010, and is taking steps to put up Jon Ashjian as a candidate for the U.S. Senate.

The presence of a third-party conservative in the race could draw off votes from the Republican nominee, potentially benefiting Reid, who has consistently trailed his GOP opponents in public polling.

1. Where do I sent the check? The Tea Party is the party of the future.
It is their American duty to get third-party candidates in all 50 states on all ballots.

4. They didn't learn from the Ross Perot debacle did they?
Unfortunately, with or without Reid, there doesn't seem to be any good result leading to progressive aims for health care, etc.

6. They have their own debacle
The leading candidate for the GOP right now is their ex-state party chairman, who managed to make herself anathema to the tea party crowd with what she did regarding the 2008 GOP convention delegates that should have gone to Ron Paul.

If they're running this candidate, it's because they hate her too.

7. Tea & Crumpets vs. Milquetoast
Who wouldn't want a front-row seat for this thrilling challenge -- who among them will be the most mediocre?
