Good Show Canada!
Edited on Sat Feb-13-10 02:26 AM by KT2000
What an outstanding opening ceremony.
The talent - the heart - the creativity - was so much fun to watch.
And the celebration of the natural world had me tears.
Kudos!

2. Seemed like there was a fuck-up during the "Fortress Of Solitude" finale.
Also, the torches looked a little bit like poorly-rolled doobies.

Aside from that, the opening ceremonies were pretty awesome.

3. I loved the whales and the celtic fiddling and dancing.
I liked this more free form looking show than the more formal (and a little frightening) Beijing opening ceremony.

The Canadian's feeling of informality reminded me of Norway in '92. Maybe it was the fiddling. In Norway, the fiddlers skied, but in Canada, they danced--tap!

6. Parts were excellent
The unfortunate mechanical error at the end was a downer. Also, I could have done without the long winded addresses at the end.

Overall a good show.

8. Could have done without the guy lecturing/ranting on how great Canada is.
But other than that, quite entertaining.

I went on a diving trip about 8 years ago up along the straits between the mainland and Vancouver Island. It was the best diving trip ever for me. BC is just amazing.
