Tonight on PBS - A Celebration of Music From The Civil Rights Movement
"In Performance at the White House: A Celebration of Music from the Civil Rights Movement," airs on February 11 at 8 p.m. ET on PBS stations nationwide.

President and Mrs. Obama will host "In Performance at the White House: A Celebration of Music from the Civil Rights Movement" in honor of Black History Month, and the evening will feature songs from the Civil Rights Movement performed by top entertainers, as well as readings from famous Civil Rights speeches and writings. Artists include Yolanda Adams, Joan Baez, Natalie Cole, Bob Dylan, Jennifer Hudson, John Mellencamp, Smokey Robinson, the Blind Boys of Alabama, the Howard University Choir and The Freedom Singers, featuring Dr. Bernice Johnson Reagon, Rutha Harris, Charles Neblett and Toshi Reagon. Morgan Freeman will be a guest speaker.

Looks good. I'll watch just about anything with Bob Dylan in it and this has a lot of other great artists as well.

11. It will most likely show up on the White House web site after it's
broadcast tonight. The other concert series showed up there a few days after the PBS date. :)

14. Anyone else think Joan Baez was delivering a about war to Obama

Very polite, very civil. Certainly seemed that the very last bit of performance was tailored to remind Obama of MLK's opposition to war and his many efforts to end the war in Vietnam and that today we faced similar situation today.

I have heard her many times with changing emphasis. Maybe I am just projecting my own interpretation and beliefs. I wish I could have seen Obama, though it is unlikely he visibly reacted. Others might have.

Great show.
