Did anyone see Jane Mayer of The New Yorker on Morning Joke?
It was great. I thought that Squinty's head was going to explode when she factual disproved the GOP talking points he has been spewing for months. No wonder he ushered her off as quickly as he did.

BTW Here is her great article in The New Yorker: http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2010/02/15/100215fa_fact_mayer

1. Joe's been in Full Metal Asshole mode all week. No pretense. Something's up.
As for this morning, when Mayer mentioned Robert Mueller, after Joe mocked her mention of Jay Rockefeller, it was too funny watching Joe skee-daddle off to commercial land.

2. I think Barracuda's disappointing appearance was a huge embarrassment
to them all and left a bad taste. Whether they were actually counting on her to boost repug numbers I don't know. And then for Gibbs to demean her and the President making them look like fools. Guess I'd be in a bad mood too.

4. I suspect that "whats up" is the cheney MTP show
after a week setting the stage for a "we are tough and they are not" strut fest, cheney will be the featured speaker reiterating all the talking points spewing across the media. This would have been their kick off to the 2010 elections framed with the "we are so tough" bullshit.
Fortunately for us we have seen them being called out over and over while they dig the hole deeper and deeper.
Once dick appears as the architect it will become clear to thinking American where the stink is coming from.
It does present the opportunity for Obama to crack open some information as to how much they learned water boarding people, how much time was wasted following the false leads, and to show a comparison between the novice torturers of the bush gang and the professional interrogates now in charge.

5. Hmm. The Dick was always big on planting stuff in the media and then quoting it later.
So yeah, 'setting the stage' all week seems consistent with his M.O. Interesting how Mayer's article focused on a group co-founded by Liz Cheney.

3. Mayer's been all around lately, and I heard her interviewed...
on NPR. Read the article, too. She's one of the good guys, and always worth listening to. Or reading.

If Morning Joe keeps having people like her on, it might not be such a humongous waste of time watching him.

(A New Yorker subscription is really cheap, too-- less than a buck an issue. Time reading it is well spent and you can watch "Monk" reruns in the morning instead of cable news.)
