12. Heard from him this morning...
he's fine, just let the battery run out on this phone. He had stocked up his little fridge and isn't driving anywhere until the roads are all clear.

5. I assume the shipyard closed today. it's actually pretty good about that, so I'm stumped...
who these folks are. The Norfolk area didn't get much snow at all, so, perhaps, folks didn't realize what they were getting into.

10. Exactly. The historic triangle (Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown) was right on the line.
Also, it didn't start snowing until about 7:00am... but once it started to fall, the snow laid thick and quick. Factor in 40mph wind gusts and it was a recipe for disaster.

7. Pierce's Pitt Pure Pulled Pork - we're neighbors at heart!
I had a nice, long chat with JC Pierce on one trip down. He was telling me about how Walmart was trying to get Pierce's off the highway signs. I actually have polling experience on stuff like this and had to deal with WalMart and gave him some tips on what their strategy might be. I got a free insulated mug!

I live in MD but my Maternal Unit lived in Va. Beach near the Norfolk border. So, I make the trip a lot.

8. If you make the trek from Chevy Chase to Va. Beach often...
...that insulated mug will surely come in handy.

Don't get me started on Wal*Mart... we'll be here all night!

6. I used to live there. I remember that whenever it snowed, the folkes there
would always crash. Just a dusting would close schools. Stay off the roads when it snows there. ;)
