I have a similar reaction - didn't used to have that reaction. Another piece of fall out of the jingoistic behavior and use of the term "Patriot" as a way of whipping anyone who didn't lock step in with bushco. Seriously, it shouldn't bring a negative reaction - if someone is in public service, it could be a daily reminder of who one is serving... but then came the McCarthy-like bush era.
