FCH Relay team, ACS discuss toy collection
Representatives of the Fostoria Community Hospital Relay for Life team and the American Cancer Society met recently to discuss collecting toys for the Children's Hospice in Columbus.
The request to collect toys for patients at the hospice came from the family of Nate Elfrink, a central Ohio boy suffering from brain cancer. His parents' wish for Christmas cards to be sent to their son while he was in hospice care brought on an avalanche of cardstock greetings to their home.
The family eventually requested that strangers from all over the world stop sending cards and instead donate to charitable donations in Nate's honor.
For more information on ways to give in Nate's honor, call Deborah Hilborn of the American Cancer Society at .
