Repeat complainer banned for life from coffee shop
http://www.torontosun.com/news/canada/2010/02/08/12789491.html

Jimmy Craig complained about his coffee one too many times.

The St. Andrews, N.B., man has been banned permanently from his local Tim Hortons, as well as the one in neighbouring St. Stephen.

Craig had complained about his decaffeinated coffee's burnt taste.

"It was like brown, burnt water," he told CBC. "I almost, you know, got sick in the sink.”

After meetings with the store manager, the store owner and corporate office, Craig finally received a letter banning him under province's trespass act.

2. Why did he keep buying it, then?
When I get a cup of brown burnt water that almost makes me spew, I go somewere else from then on. Could it be that this guy liked the coffee just fine, he was just hoping they would give it to him free as an 'apology'?

10. I think getting free had a lot to do with it, but just to be fair, what if
he had some kind of gastro-intestinal disease that made his coffee taste weird? Then it would seem he would figure out that maybe he shouldn't drink coffee anymore.

4. No coffee for you!
Seriously, why does the guy keep coming back if he doesn't like their coffee? Maybe he should invest in a coffee pot.

5. I did that once in my husband's diner.
I finally got fed up with a customer whom you could never please. When she took a bite out of a lunch she ordered and summoned me over to complain, a daily occurrence, I finally stood up to her and took her plate and told her to get out. This is after months of abuse. I told her that obviously she didn't like our food so I didn't know why she came in every day. I told her she would never be served again. She threatened to get me fired. She didn't realize I had an in with the owner. :-) We never did serve her again although she tried to come in over and over again. Since we served beer and wine, I told her if she tried to make trouble it could be possible that she was drunk and that the police would handle it. She finally left forever.

I never realized how much the staff hated her until after as well.

6. I think a psychiatric evaluation is in order
If he isn't taking his business elsewhere, he's maybe an attention addict or a compulsive-obsessive type.

11. Good point, but it really isn't the restaurant's place to do an evaluation.
The fact that he was banned for over-the-top behavior should be a sign to him and his friends and relatives that maybe it's time for him to see a therapist.

14. I think he should switch to caffeinated
I worked at a gas station where the same pot of decaf would sometimes sit there for hours. It usually looked more like motor oil than coffee. :-)

15. I was banned from a gym for complaining as well
Bought a one-year contract for a weekly trainer and when the trainer bailed on me and I continuously complained and asked to get a new one, they banned me from the gym.

Oh yeah, maybe because I was calling every manager I could and making my way to the top to report that their training program was poorly managed, which got said training program manager to lie to his management and make wild claims about me :)

Aaah, what fun.

20. The staff made him fresh pots but he still complained....

Reading the story it sounds like the manager decided to stand up for his workers who were tired of getting hassled.

The guy says "I thought the customer was always right" (even if wrong) ..that alone shows what his attitude was.

Like other posters said ..just stop going there if you do not like the coffee you idiot.

Now he is hiring a lawyer..over not being able to get coffee he does not like?

Must be a republican.
