I daydream sometimes, of holding political office right now.

It started with thoughts of reforming education, which progressed to dreams of being on the Orange County School Board or becoming a School Principal.I also thought of becoming the Superintendent and maybe Mayor of some place in Orange County.I once read the Constitution of the State of Florida, probably before all of this happened, and I remember noticing the class size amendment, the marriage amendment, and the requirements for holding some political offices. For Governor,I had to be at least 30 years old and have resided in the state for the preceding 7 years of taking office. To be a State Legislator, I had to be 21 years old ,and,if memory serves me correctly, reside in the state for the preceding 5 years(for both of these offices,I might remember that I also needed to be a citizen of the United States).

When I read this document, I knew already that some states had age limits for holding office,so I decided to read the Constitution of Massachusetts,a state that I knew I might want to go to for University. If I read correctly, there was no age limit for being the Governor ,but you had to have resided in the state for the preceding seven years as well.

Before all this,I knew that to become President of this country, the Constitution required that you must be 35 years old, that you must have resided in the country for at least fourteen years, and that you must be a natural born citizen.I knew that I currently did not fulfill two of these requirements, and would never fulfill one .

Currently, I live in Fresh Meadows, a neighborhood in Queens,NY. My mother had to move here to make ends meet and to have access to more educational and social services for my brother and I(We both have some mental disorders and maybe disabilities,I don't know all of them yet).I immigrated to the United States from the Philippines in 2002,so I grew up seeing two worlds. We moved from Orlando,Florida to this place a year and a half ago, though I briefly returned there for a year to finish Middle School and live with the rest of my family. To return to the topic at hand,I now sometimes daydream of becoming Governor of Florida,or a U.S Representative from Florida's 8th Congressional District,or a U.S Senator from New York. The elections for these offices, after all, are being held this year.I know that I don't fill the requirements to hold any of these offices.I just turned 15 last December.

So the purpose of this topic is to ask a few questions:

What's the highest political office would you vote a fifteen year old young man in,if he was considered eligible by law for that office ? (Governor,State legislator,U.S Representative, even School Board Member.)
Would you propose changing any of the requirements to hold political office in your state ? (Perhaps removing the age limit and changing the requirement of a number of presiding years in the state to just a requirement of residing for the same number of years in the state)
Would you support changing the requirements to be President or Congressman ?(Perhaps, for President, removing the natural born citizen requirement or have no requirements and leave it up entirely to the electorate to decide ? I don't dream of becoming President now,but I just think some of these requirements should go.)
Do you think politically acute teenagers can vote responsibly (People under 18) ? If not, what role should these people have in America ?

1. Regarding my first question,
If I became Governor of your state for example, I would first focus on reforming education.I believe that simply spending more money will not solve the problem(as many conservatives do),but I think that letting the money manifest itself in useful ways such as reducing class size or improving school technology.I haven't researched health care reform very much at all,but my standard response is to institute a single payer taxpayer funded Universal Health care system for the people of your state. In matters of the current financial-economic crisis, I would consult economic advisors (probably Keynesians)on whether what bracket to raise or cut taxes in,and I would try to make the most of your states current budget by providing a lot for the state's General Welfare.

You can figure my stances out for if I was elected to other political offices such as Senator or Representative from the above paragraph.
