I just watched PBS Newshour - Amy Walter was on with Gwen Ifill discussing politics, HCR - then did get to the Tea Party conference and she who will not be named. Each time I see this discussed on the news, it is raised as if it is a movement that is grass roots - it just arose from the politically discontented. But the truth is that it is astroturf - the whole thing was bankrolled and catalyzed by Dick Armey and similar organizations with nothing but right wing political motivation - seeing Obama fail. They prey on those who are so unsophisticated that they can get all frothed up, make their ridiculous misspelled signs, and scream their heads off. But they don't really even know what they are outraged at. I've liked Amy Walter's reporting, and she should know better. What I wonder - are we seeing just laziness? Is it short memory? Are they being told what they can or can't say?
Why, why, why is this being presented as grassroots - and why, why, why isn't it ever raised that it is a total fake....it is just a naked political ploy?
