Jeeeez... Chuck Todd defends Sarah Palin's crib notes.
Andrea Mitchell mocked Sarah Palin on MSNBC's "Daily Rundown" Monday morning by appearing on-air with notes written on her hand.

Palin was caught over the weekend reading notes off her hand at the Tea Party Convention in Nashville.

Mitchell said that was "one of the most interesting things" from Palin's appearance over the weekend, and showed off the notes scribbled on the inside of her own hand.

"Daily Rundown" co-host Chuck Todd attempted to defend Palin, saying, "We've all done notes."

But Mitchell said that Palin's "cheat sheets" were damaging in that she had described Presdeint Obama as a "charismatic guy with a teleprompter."

"If Mitt Romney had notes on his hand, wouldn't we take it pretty seriously?" Mitchell asked Todd and co-host Savannah Guthrie.

"She does, sort of, get played... she has different rules," Todd stammered.

I'm not sure who's the bigger idiot, Chuck Todd or Sarah Palin.

What a tool.

8. And in case you're wondering what those "different rules" are
The first one has to do with how Mr. Todd perceives or relates to Mrs. Palin; hint: it’s real different from how he relates to Mitt Romney.

Second, Mrs. Palin’s supporters will flood Mr. Todd’s e-mail, twitter, and other electronic orifices with pent-up spunk and vitriol if he breathes a word against her. Mr. Todd doesn’t like the spunk or the vitriol. Truth be told, he’s more than a little scared of them, and in ways that he is not nor ever will be scared of progressive/liberal voices.

Third, Mr. Todd knows what sells. He has to. It’s how he gets that big, fat paycheck every couple of weeks from NBC. And he’s not ashamed to look like a choad-guzzling ignoramus while he pockets that paycheck. He knows that a lot of his colleagues do the very same thing, and in that company he finds comfort.

6. Imagine Romney with talking points scrawled on his hand!
Edited on Mon Feb-08-10 04:09 PM by mwb970
It would never happen. I guarantee that he would never pull anything like that, even in private in his own home. (Neither would I. I have paper.)

I'm no fan of Romney, but the fact that the very idea of him writing stuff on his hand is too absurd to even consider shows that he, like most "real" politicians, simply operates in a different universe from penny-ante, childish grifters like Palin.

7. There is a part of the media who want her out there and
they inflate everything she does just to keep her there. It's called job security. ANd they don't want to be on the wrong side if the tides were to turn.

9. If it weren't for the hypocritical remarks about the teleprompter this would be a non-issue.

That and the fact that notes on her hand were supposed to be her core political beliefs (or some variation on that theme) should be troubling. It's like saying "oh yeah and dog whistle, cat nip, talking point. and I forgot...hmmmm...looks like it says...yep...You betcha" She had to remind herself about what she stood for.
