Formerly known as CBN Television Law School, Founded by Pat Robertson in 1986 and where an alarming percentage of White House Hires come from (including the woman who took the 5th when asked to testify about the e-mail scandal). :banghead:

Oh, and Richard Gere is on Now!

1. 150 graduates hired by DoJ...
including Monica Goodling.

Their books came from the defunct Oral Roberts Law School.

3. Wow, I was just reading some of the course descriptions there...
...and they read like they were written at about a 5th grade level (or by a 5th grader?), check it out: <http://www.regent.edu/>

Now to be clear, I'm talking about the undergrad descriptions, here's an example:

BA in English
Literature & Word

Studying words, imaginative literature, and the process of writing takes on great importance when you consider the high value God has placed upon words. In fact, John 1:1 says, “In the beginning was the Word.”

The major in English invites students to reflect on words and how they work. Students consider a variety of expressions of the human imagination as these are understood in the contexts of history, ethnicity, culture, gender, and interdisciplinary study. Grounded in Christ, the study of the English language and literature affords opportunities to understand others, oneself, and God’s world at the same time.

Students majoring in English with Regent University, either online or on campus will develop a strong foundation in literature and composition while gaining some expertise in a related field, called a cognate. Students hone their skills in reading, writing, interpretation, and critical analysis - key abilities for fields such as law, communication, journalism, divinity, and the arts. Furthermore, students are prepared to do graduate work in English, Law, Divinity (etc.) if they so choose.

2. Well, lookey here! "Building Housing Regent's Washington DC Campus to be Sold"

Building Housing Regent's Washington DC Campus to be Sold

Students' Increased Desire for Online Courses Prompts Change
April 9, 2007

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.—Based on the results of a comprehensive review and evaluation of student demographics and needs, Regent University will sell its Washington, D.C. campus.

“We learned that our D.C. students in particular, most of whom are part-time, want more hybrid courses that involve on-campus and online components,” explains Dr. Jeffrey Pittman, vice president for student services. “And because of the increasing interest in online classes, we have begun a search for classroom and office space that more appropriately suits our operating needs.”

Regent will not be admitting new students into on-campus WDC programs, however, the School of Education will continue to offer educational programs in the Metro DC area. In addition, all Regent online programs and all programs offered on the Virginia Beach campus will continue to be available.

Course instruction will continue for current WDC students in the existing Regent facility until the building is sold and/or a suitable replacement space is identified. “We are first and foremost interested in ensuring a smooth transition for our students, faculty and staff,” says Pittman.

4. I saw it. It was scorching. I still don't think a lot of people would "get it"
regarding the religion thing. That it' a fourth-tier school should be enough for people to understand the absurdity of their presence in the DOJ. I know too many people who see religion as "good" and so Jon showing people saying it is a christian school would not be offensive to them. Unfortunately, some of my friends would ask of the Christian based agenda at the school: "what wrong with that"? I've gone back and forth with some and they don't see how religion can do harm. So, I let it go.

5. Here, maybe this will help in your fight: Scandal puts spotlight on Christian law school

Scandal puts spotlight on Christian law school

Grads influential in Justice Dept.

By Charlie Savage, Globe Staff | April 8, 2007

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- The title of the course was Constitutional Law, but the subject was sin. Before any casebooks were opened, a student led his classmates in a 10-minute devotional talk, completed with "amens," about the need to preserve their Christian values. "Sin is so appealing because it's easy and because it's fun," the law student warned....

(edit)

...Regent University School of Law, founded by televangelist Pat Robertson to provide "Christian leadership to change the world," has worked hard in its two-decade history to upgrade its reputation, fighting past years when a majority of its graduates couldn't pass the bar exam and leading up to recent victories over Ivy League teams in national law student competitions.

One of those graduates is Monica Goodling , the former top aide to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales who is at the center of the storm over the firing of US attorneys. Goodling, who resigned on Friday, has become the face of Regent overnight -- and drawn a harsh spotlight to the administration's hiring of officials educated at smaller, conservative schools with sometimes marginal academic reputations.

Documents show that Goodling, who has asserted her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination to avoid testifying before Congress, was one of a handful of officials overseeing the firings. She helped install Timothy Griffin , the Karl Rove aide and her former boss at the Republican National Committee, as a replacement US attorney in Arkansas.

Because Goodling graduated from Regent in 1999 and has scant prosecutorial experience, her qualifications to evaluate the performance of US attorneys have come under fire. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, asked at a hearing: "Should we be concerned with the experience level of the people who are making these highly significant decisions?"....
