Texas lawmakers block cervical cancer shots

Texas lawmakers rejected Gov. Rick Perry’s anti-cancer vaccine order Wednesday, sending him a bill that blocks state officials from requiring the shots for at least four years.

Perry has said he is disappointed but has not indicated whether he will veto the bill. He has 10 days to sign or veto it, or the proposal will become law without his signature.

1. In A Way - Good
This vaccine should NOT be required. It should be available, but not required.

2. Perry will probably veto the bill to save face.
If he does, there might just be an override of the veto. In any event, he looks a bit more centrist with his actions on this issue. Methinks Perry wants the national stage in 2012 after we win in 2008.
